I saw the build on this and it was a subaru. though a 33 engine would be sweet. Or a Lancia flat 4 even (the updated one, not the one that would break the cam belt when you steered to the left on full lock)

Ah. I can't really fault the choice, but the red inlet manifold made me think of the 33's 16v engine and got me thinking about how a Karmann Ghia design would be done justice with a wop engine (to speak with Marchionne).
No intended hate on the Subaru flat four choice by the way. Anything to make the go match the show and I love stinger exhausts on beetles and their progeny.
